Guidelines for Writing Articles

Length of articles

The maximum word count for an article is 850 words unless of course your information is so important that we feel a need to publish all of it. We will edit your article if necessary. If you go over the limit to 925-950 words, it will give us greater leeway when editing. Two-part articles must be approved in advance and are used less often.

Subjects

AtlantaEvent.com publishes a variety of articles on the topics of business networking, motivation, small business tips and other related topics. Each article published must meet our approval. Editorial content is judged on the quality of writing, general informational content, appropriateness to our focus, etc.

Photos

We no longer include photos on our pages, but we will link to your web site and we hope you may have one there.

Payment

Unfortunately, we cannot pay for articles unless we have commissioned you to write something for us specific. We will publish your contact information (phone number, email address, URL) at the end of the article and a direct obvious link to your own web site.

Method of Submission

The preferred method of submission is through the form at the bottom of this page. Otherwise, please submit via email to info@atlantaevent.com.

Automatic Refusals

We do not publish articles by writers who simply want to promote their own products or services. If you provide a service and you want to help educate the public about that service, your article should contain general information that would be helpful to our readers. You may mention in your bio line that you provide the service, but the article should not be primarily self-promotion. You may buy advertising if you wish.

Plagiarism

If any part of your article is based on someone else's work, please give them credit. We are informal in style, but we do want to make sure to credit our sources for their original work. Suspect articles will not be published.
